Team Mahi’s top summer outdoor brunch spots
A round-up of some of our favourite restaurants offering al fresco dining.
With lockdown now (hopefully) a thing of the past and a much brighter summer ahead of us, we’re looking forward to making up for a lot of time lost in London’s finest establishments. We’ve put together a handy shortlist of places we’ll be hitting up over the next few months to enjoy some food cooked by someone other than ourselves and some company that isn’t a screen or a house plant:
Smiths of Smithfield, Farringdon
City views and brunches with booze are our vibe this year, and this one is sure to live up to our high expectations. With an extensive cocktail list to work through and a delicious menu featuring spinach baked eggs, shortrib breakfast muffins, cajun spiced Devon crab cakes and more, we’re raring to get a foot in the door.
Fulham Beach, Fulham
Ayllu, Paddington
Did someone say limitless martinis!? Fulham Beach offers delicious starters and brunches, as much prosecco, beer, and passionfruit martinis as you can manage and music from London’s top DJs - all in a beach setting without having to leave London. See you there!
This Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant was a favourite pre-pandemic, and we’re itching to get back and check out their outdoor terrace. Ayllu offers much more than your average poached eggs and sourdough - their tasting menu has us salivating as we read it, featuring dishes including Peruvian truffles, and pulled chicken breast with yellow chili base. Plus unlimited prosecco and mimosas to wash it all down with!
The Good Egg, Soho
This one’s a little more casual and a lot messier, but we’re here for it. Offering proper, hearty soul food like shakshuka, reuben pita, stuffed challah buns, and their famous babka French toast, you’re guaranteed to be satisfied by the time you leave.
White Mulberries, St Katharine Docks
Nothing says summer in London than a day spent dockside! Located inside the historical Ivory House in St Katharine Docks, you can load up on breakfast bowls, delicious baked goods, and some very Instagram-worth cocktails all while enjoying the waterside views. Brunch dishes are available weekdays until 3pm, or 4pm on weekends.
