London’s best parks: voted for by Mahi

With summer on its way and (hopefully) some more hot, bright days ahead, we’re looking forward to gaining back a bit of normality in our lives with some park hangs in the sunshine.

Whether it’s enjoying a picnic lunch with our colleagues, catching up with some friends we’ve not seen in a while, spending quality time with family, or maybe even taking the occasional run* (who are we kidding, *rum), there are plenty of beautiful locations to take advantage of all over London. Here are some of our favourite green spaces we’ll be enjoying this summer:

Hampstead Heath

A firm favourite amongst the team is Hampstead Heath, and it’s easy to see why when you catch a glimpse of the London skyline from this beautiful city escape. With hiking trails, bathing ponds, and plenty of space to enjoy and take a deep breath, you’ll never tire of this park.

Richmond Park

Famous for its wild landscapes and more deer than you can ever possibly imagine (particularly for a city park), Richmond Park offers ancient woodland, a rich and royal history, and celebrated architecture. With plenty of deer, birds, and other notable wildlife, the park is London’s largest Site of Special Scientific Interest, a National Nature Reserve and a Special Area of Conservation.

Soho Square Gardens

A curveball nomination but one close to our hearts (and office) is the small but mighty Soho Square Gardens. There might not be much to it, but with such close proximity to plenty of delicious lunch options and space for us to spread out for a sneaky lunch picnic, this park gets a big thumbs up from the Mahi team.

Hyde Park

No list of London’s parks is complete without a shout out to the iconic Hyde Park. This 350-acre royal park is London’s biggest park, and is home to numerous sporting events and festivals (pre/post-pandemic), a beautiful rose garden, a lido and boating lake, as well as endless open green spaces to enjoy.
